The prelimanary excerise

In my media lesson today we was asked to complete a preliminary exercise which demonstrates the factors of continuing editing; Match on match action, Eye-line match, Shot/ reverse shot, 180 degree shot, Attempt to create graphic match(optional).

We were split into groups in order to compete this task. My group successfully managed to have all this elements in the short video we made apart from graphic match.

We did use all the cinematography we were told to use and also included a close up shot

and a mid shot using pan as a camera movement.

Analyse

Overall we think that it was a successful attempt for our first filming  We successfully achieved the eye-line match as you can see Seye looking at his watch the a shot of his actual watch. However we didn't not achieve match-on-match action but it can bee seen that we attempted to do this as if we had moved the camera further backwards the shot of Nicks hand on the door would have been seen. We also didn't achieve the graphic image as didn't have time to be able to this. We achieved the 180 degrees rule during Nick and Seye conversation. If we were to do this again we would make our video longer and display graphic match at some point in the video, i.e. As Seye looks at his watch a footage of the sun will then follow. We would have also moved the camera further back in order to get Nicks full movement as he approaches the door when entering so that we our attempt to achieve match on match action will be achieved.
