Past student thriller analyse: Nightwalker & Hide and Seek

Analyse on past student's thriller

Night walker

Positives

-          An effect and good use variety of eye line match was used
-          There was a range of shot angles
-          The font and pace of the titling corresponded with the theme
-          The idea and plot the film was interesting

Negatives

-       The titling kept on changing and appearing on the screen which was distracting
-          The font was too big making the titling too eye catching as it kept the audience’s attention away from the actual film
-          There was no digectic sounds were there should have been, e.g. Screaming or screeching  when the teenage girl was attacked
-          The film was too dark, unable to see what was going on and the characters
-          The writing was hard to read because of the font

Hide and Seek

Positives

-          The plot was very interesting
-          Very good use of sound effects
-          Good and advanced camera shots
-          The beginning doesn't give too much away making the ending unexpected and exciting
-          Mysterious

Negatives

-          The acting isn't very good-looked as if what they were doing was planned which was unprofessional
-          Digetic sounds are not used enough
-          The way in which the music changes didn’t go with the film therefore unnecessary
-          The film was too much like a horror instead of a thriller
